This was such an interesting world and I wished that it was developed more. We only get to see the tiniest chunk and the ever so little bit of history. I also really wished the world was more developed. This book sort of takes some ideas from other books and a couple new ideas and smashes them together. I do sort of hate the tropeness of the plot and the fact that there is yet another book with a love triangle. I really recommend it for anyone who is in a bit of a slump or is just getting into sort of fantasy books. I can fly through it in a couple of hours if I really try. The ruffles on the dress and the mirror like reflection in the background really make the design pop! Also the color is just perfect! Its one of my favorites ever! I think that they just really fit the story so well! I really love the details in the cover.
I can seriously read one of the books in the series in less than a day.įirst off I just love the cover. I read it every time I feel like I’ve gotten into a reading slump. This has got to be at least my third time reading The Selection and I have the weirdest relationship with this book/series. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself-and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.īut for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth.
